-- Living by Habit --
Being stuck in a pattern can have devastating effects. That
is why I am so adamant about you breaking free of its
grasp. Stop and think. Really think about what you do each
day and where it is leading you.
Consider the following example. While in college I was
friends with a Mr. John Casey. John was a very unique
individual, and he had a very unique ambition.
He wanted to start a business helping to teach young
children how to set goals and reach them to enrich their
lives and the world at large. It was a very worthy ambition
and one that never failed to excite John and those around
him.
Then something happened. John began spending less time
thinking and focusing on his goal and more time wrapped up
in the daily hustle and bustle of the world outside. He
soon had no time left to dream because it was taken up by
much less important tasks.
Soon he had blocked the goal entirely out of his mind and settled into his routine. Unfortunately, I doubt he will ever break free of its hold.
This example serves as undeniable proof that a worthy dream
can slip away and vanish if negative patterns take over.
John could have shared something very special with the
world through his dream, but instead he let routine steal
his dream and replace it with contentment.
To ensure this doesn't happen to any of your goals, stop
right now and ask yourself the question you've been waiting
to hear:
Will you reach your goals and dreams if you change nothing about your current patterns?
If you keep doing what you have always been doing, will you
get what you want? If so, excellent. Keep up the good work
and enjoy your success. If not, which covers the majority
of readers, it's time to face the facts.
